Quality & IP protection
How we handle your artwork and tooling
What happens to your files, your master shim and the material left over at the end of a run, and what gets checked before anything ships.
To make an anti-counterfeit label we need the exact artwork a forger would want, in the exact format that makes copying easy. There is no way round that. So the useful answer is to be clear about what happens to it.
These terms form part of every order we accept. If your legal team would rather use their own wording, send it across. We have no interest in arguing about paperwork.
Master shim custody
The master is the metal tool that carries your design. It is the one thing that would let someone make more of your labels, so it is the thing worth guarding.
- Your shim is recorded against your account and used for no other customer, ever.
- It is stored in a controlled area, not on the production floor between runs.
- It is returned to you or destroyed on your written request, and we issue a certificate either way.
- If you do not ask, we retain it so repeat orders skip origination. That is a convenience, not a right. You can revoke it at any time.
Overrun and waste
Every print run makes some waste and a few spare labels. The question is where they go.
- Runs are counted and the count is recorded against your order number.
- Setup waste and overrun are separated at the press, not returned to stock.
- They are destroyed, and we certify the destruction on request.
- Nothing bearing your artwork is used as a sample, a demonstration piece, or a trade show handout unless you tell us in writing that we may.
Confidentiality
- We sign a mutual NDA before you send artwork, not after. Ask and it comes back the same working day.
- Your artwork files are never shared. Not with other customers, not with suppliers, not as a template for anyone else's job.
- We will not name you as a customer, quote you, or use you as a trade reference without your agreement.
- Photographs of finished work may appear in our portfolio. If you would rather yours did not, say so at order stage and it will not, and if you spot something here you want removed, tell us and it goes.
- Files are held only as long as the order and any reorder window require.
Email sales@ztholograms.com or tick the box on the quote form. There is no cost and no obligation, and it is the right order to do things in.
Quality control
Nothing goes to the press until you approve a sample made from your own master. After the run we check the work against that sample for:
- Registration and position of the holographic image
- Legibility of covert features, micro-text, latent image
- Adhesion on the substrate you specified
- Release behaviour and pattern transfer, on VOID products
- Die-cut accuracy and finished dimensions
- Serial number sequence and completeness, where used
If something is wrong
Tell us within claim window, in days of receipt of receipt, with photographs and your order number. If the goods do not match the sample you approved, we remake them or credit you. We would rather remake it than argue.
Certifications
- ISO 9001
- ISO 14001
Ask and we will send the certificates themselves. A standard named without a number is worth very little, and we would rather you checked.
We produce excise and regulatory stamps, but we are not an accredited high-security printer: we do not make banknotes or passports, and we do not hold Intergraf or CWA 14641 accreditation. If your tender requires that accreditation, we will say so rather than waste your time.
